- "O Allāh, bless our Makkah for us, O Allāh, bless our Madīnah for us, O Allāh, bless our Shām for us, and bless our ṣāʿ for us, and bless our mudd for us." A man said, "O Messenger of Allāh! And in our ʿIrāq." He turned away from him. He repeated it three times, each time the man said, "And in our ʿIrāq," and he turned away from him. He said, "There are earthquakes and trials in it, and there the horn of Satan will emerge." It was recorded by Yaʿqūb al-Fasawī in "al-Maʿrifah" (2/746-748), and al-Mukhliṣ in "al-Fawāʾid al-Muntaqāh" (7/2-3), and al-Jurjānī in "al-Fawāʾid" (164/2), and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (6/133), and Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh Dimashq" (1/120) through various chains from Tawbah al-ʿAnbarī from Sālim ibn ʿAbd Allāh from his father that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) supplicated, and he mentioned it. I say: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim. Ziyād ibn Bayān also followed it up, and Sālim narrated it. It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ" (1/246/1/4256), and Abū ʿAlī al-Qushayrī al-Ḥarānī in "Tārīkh al-Raqqah" (2/20/1-2), and al-Rubʿī in "Faḍāʾil al-Shām wa-Dimashq" (11/20), and Ibn ʿAsākir (1/121-122). Al-Ṭabarānī said: "No one narrated it from Ziyād except Ismāʿīl, and his son Ḥammād was unique in narrating it!" Thus he said! And it is with Ibn ʿAsākir through the route of Sulaymān ibn ʿUmar ibn Khālid al-Aqṭaʿ who informed us from Ismāʿīl ibn Ibrāhīm - who is Ibn ʿUlayyah - with it. And with al-Qushayrī through the route of al-ʿAlāʾ ibn Ibrāhīm who narrated to us from Ziyād ibn Bayān with it. I say: And Ziyād ibn Bayān - he is al-Raqī - is truthful and devout as al-Ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Taqrīb"
