"No vein or eye twitches except due to a sin, and what Allāh averts is greater." Narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr" (no. 1053) and from him by Abū Nuʿaym in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/247) from Aḥmad ibn al-Furāt, who reported from Muḥammad ibn Kathīr, who reported from Muḥammad ibn Faḍīl from al-Ṣalt ibn Bahrām from Abū Wāʾil from al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib as marfūʿ. Al-Ṭabarānī said: "Aḥmad alone narrated it." I say: He is a trustworthy ḥāfiẓ, and those above him are trustworthy from the men of the two Shaykhs except al-Ṣalt ibn Bahrām, and he is trustworthy. Muḥammad ibn Kathīr is al-ʿAbdī as it appears to me. And Allāh knows best. Al-Haythamī said in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (2/295): "Narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Ṣaghīr' and in it is al-Ṣalt ibn Bahrām, and he is trustworthy, except that he was a Murjiʾ." I say: Al-Ḍiyāʾ al-Maqdisī also included it in "al-Aḥādīth al-Mukhtārah" as in "al-Jāmiʿayn: al-Kabīr wa-al-Ṣaghīr," and al-Manāwī deemed its isnād good in "al-Taysīr."
