and Abū Maʿshar—his name is Najīḥ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sindī—is weak. fifth: ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, raised [to the Prophet] similarly in a ḥadīth that begins: "When my community acts..." It is narrated by al-Faraj ibn Faḍālah from Yaḥyá ibn Saʿīd from Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī from him. It was recorded by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā (153/1) and al-Tirmidhī (2211) who said: "It is rare, we do not know it except from this route, and al-Faraj ibn Faḍālah has been criticized by some scholars of ḥadīth and weakened due to his memory." There is another route for it, narrated by Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Tamīmī from ʿAbbād ibn Abī ʿAlī from ʿAlī similarly. I said: And this chain's men are trustworthy, but I do not know if this ʿAbbād heard from ʿAlī? sixth: from Abū Hurayrah, raised [to the Prophet] similarly. It is narrated by Sulaymān ibn Sālim Abū Dāwūd who said: Ḥassān ibn Abī Sinān narrated to us from a man from him. It was recorded by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā (153/1-2). I said: And its men are trustworthy except the man who was not named, and it was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2212) from the route of Rumayḥ al-Judhāmī—who is unknown—from Abū Hurayrah with it. seventh: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ṣābiṭ, mursal—and he did not mention the female singers. It was recorded by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā and its chain is authentic but mursal. eighth and ninth: Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib and Ibrāhīm al-Nakhaʿī, mursal.
