- "A child born out of wedlock does not bear the burden of the sins of its parents * (Nor does a bearer of burdens bear the burden of another) * (1)." It was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/100) from Muḥammad ibn Ghālib, who narrated to us from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar al-Madāʾinī, who narrated to us from ʿAbbād ibn al-ʿAwām from Sufyān al-Thawrī from Hishām ibn ʿUrwah from his father from ʿĀʾishah in a marfūʿ form. He said: "Its isnād is authentic," and al-Dhahabī agreed, saying: "It is authentic, and its opposite is also authentic." I say: As for it being authentic, I have reservations, for this al-Madāʾinī was mentioned by al-Khaṭīb in "Tārīkh" (5/175), where he said: "Muḥammad ibn Ghālib al-Tammām and others narrated from him, and I have been informed that he died in the year 259." He neither authenticated him nor quoted others doing so, thus it is unlikely to authenticate his ḥadīth. Yes, it is possible to consider his ḥadīth as ḥasan, assuming it to be concealed, especially since the ḥadīth agrees with the Quran, as is evident. And Allāh knows best.
- "She does not need to perform ghusl until she experiences discharge, just as a man does not need to perform ghusl until he experiences discharge." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (602) from ʿAlī ibn Zayd from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib from Khawlah bint Ḥakīm that she asked the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) about a woman who sees in her dream what a man sees, and he mentioned it
