"He used to pray between Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ." It was recorded by Ibn Naṣr in "Qiyām al-Layl" (p. 32) and al-Bayhaqī (3/20) from Manṣūr ibn Ṣuqayr, who narrated to us from ʿUmārah ibn Zādhān, from Thābit, from Anas as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād is weak. ʿUmārah ibn Zādhān is truthful but has poor memory, and Manṣūr ibn Ṣuqayr is weak. However, the ḥadīth has supporting evidence that strengthens it: among them is from ʿUbayd, the freed slave of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). Al-Suyūṭī attributed it in "al-Jāmiʿ" to al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" and also with Aḥmad (5/431) and al-Bayhaqī through the route of al-Taymī, who said: "A man came to us in the gathering of Abū ʿUthmān al-Nahdī and narrated to us from ʿUbayd..." and mentioned it. It was narrated by him and Ibn Naṣr from al-Muʿtamir ibn Sulaymān, who said: My father said: A man told me: "ʿUbayd, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), was asked: Did you know that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) used to command prayer after the obligatory one? He said: Yes, between Maghrib and ʿIshāʾ." And among them is from Ḥudhayfah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth similar to it. It was recorded by Aḥmad and others with a ṣaḥīḥ isnād as clarified in "Takhrīj al-Targhīb" (1/205-206).

"He used to train horses for racing." It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (1/403 - Tāzīyah) from ʿUbayd Allāh, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād is ṣaḥīḥ, and all its narrators are trustworthy, the men of al-Bukhārī. Ibn Mājah also recorded it (2/205) from this route with a similar wording
