"He used to send to the places of purification, and water would be brought to him, and he would drink it, hoping for the blessing of the hands of the Muslims." This was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (p. 35) and Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (8/203) from Ḥassān ibn Ibrāhīm al-Kirmānī from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Rawād from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar who said: "I said: O Messenger of Allāh! Is ablution from a new covered jar more beloved to you, or from the places of purification? He said: No, rather from the places of purification, for the religion of Allāh is easy, the tolerant ḥanīfiyyah." He said: So he mentioned it, and said: "No one narrated it from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz except Ḥassān." I said: There is a difference of opinion about him, but the majority affirm his reliability, and what is most likely to me is that he is moderately good in ḥadīth, especially since al-Bukhārī included him in "al-Ṣaḥīḥ", and al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful but makes mistakes." And al-Haythamī said about the ḥadīth (1/214): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ", and its men are trustworthy, and ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Rawād is trustworthy but attributed to irjāʾ." I said: Muslim used him as evidence and his irjāʾ does not harm his ḥadīth as is established in "Muṣṭalaḥ al-Ḥadīth." (al-Maṭāhir): plural of (al-Maṭharah): any vessel used for purification like a jug, pail, or small pot, as in "al-Muʿjam al-Wasīṭ."
" كان يبعث إلى المطاهر، فيؤتى بالماء، فيشربه يرجو بركة أيدي المسلمين ". أخرجه الطبراني في " الأوسط " (ص ٣٥) وأبو نعيم في " الحلية " (٨ / ٢٠٣) عن حسان بن إبراهيم الكرماني عن عبد العزيز بن أبي رواد عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: " قلت: يا رسول الله! الوضوء من جر جديد مخمر أحب إليك، أم من المطاهر؟ قال: لا بل من المطاهر، إن دين الله يسر، الحنيفية السمحة ". قال: فذكره، وقال: " لم يروه عن عبد العزيز إلا حسان ". قلت: وهو مختلف فيه والأكثرون على توثيقه، والذي يترجح عندي أنه وسط حسن الحديث، ولاسيما وقد خرج له البخاري في " صحيحه "، وقال الحافظ: " صدوق يخطىء ". والحديث قال الهيثمي (١ / ٢١٤): " رواه الطبراني في " الأوسط "، ورجاله موثقون، وعبد العزيز بن أبي رواد ثقة ينسب إلى الإرجاء ". قلت: واحتج به مسلم وإرجاؤه لا يضر حديثه كما هو مقرر في " مصطلح الحديث ". (المطاهر): جمع (المطهرة): كل إناء يتطهر منه كالإبريق والسطل والركوة وغيرها كما في " المعجم الوسيط ".
