and its narrators are trustworthy.

"I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) eating something that had been touched by fire, then he prayed without performing ablution." It was narrated by Aḥmad (1/272) from Ibn Abī al-Zinād from his father from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr ibn ʿAṭāʾ from ʿAlqamah al-Qurashī who said: "We entered the house of Maymūnah, the wife of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), and found ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbbās there. We mentioned ablution after eating something touched by fire, and ʿAbd Allāh said: (and he mentioned it). Some of us asked him: Did you see it, O Ibn ʿAbbās? He pointed to his eyes with his hand and said: My eyes saw it." I said: And this isnād is good. Wahb ibn Kaysān corroborated it from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr ibn ʿAṭāʾ with the wording: "I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) eating a piece of sheep, then he prayed without performing ablution and did not touch water." It was narrated by Muslim (1/188) and Abū ʿAwānah (1/272). There is supporting evidence from the ḥadīth of ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥārith ibn Jazʾ who said: "We used to eat bread and meat in the mosque during the time of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), then we would pray without performing ablution." It was narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān (223). I said: And its isnād is authentic. Al-Suyūṭī mentioned the ḥadīth in "al-Jāmiʿ" from the narration of al-Ṭabarānī only in "al-Kabīr" with the wording: "He used to eat from what..." the ḥadīth
