"He would not repel people from him, nor would they strike on his behalf." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (3/90/1) from Ḥammād ibn Salamah, from Abū ʿĀṣim al-Ghanawī, from Abū al-Ṭufayl, from Ibn ʿAbbās as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I say: This isnād consists of trustworthy narrators, the narrators of Muslim, except for Abū ʿĀṣim, about whom Abū Ḥātim said: "I do not know him, and no one narrated from him except Ḥammād." Ibn Maʿīn said: "Trustworthy." It was also recorded through his route by Abū Dāwūd (1885) and Aḥmad (3707). The ḥadīth is authentic because it has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Qudāmah ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmmār, similar to it with a sound isnād, recorded in "al-Mishkāt" (2623) and also by Abū al-Shaykh in "Akhlaq al-Nabī ﷺ" (p. 61).

"He would not be consulted after three [days]." Al-Suyūṭī attributed it to Ibn Qāniʿ from Ziyād ibn Saʿd, and al-Munāwī said: "Ibn al-Athīr stated: Ibn Qāniʿ considered him among the Companions, but his father and grandfather are the ones well-known for companionship. This was mentioned by al-Andalusī." I say: It is supported by what was narrated by ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Abī Yaḥyā from his father, from Ibn Abī Ḥadrad al-Aslamī: "A Jew had four dirhams owed to him by him, so he complained about him, saying: O Muḥammad! This man owes me four dirhams and has overpowered me for them. He said: Give him his due. He replied: By the One who sent you with the truth, I am unable to do so. He said: Give him his due. He replied: By the One in whose hand is my soul, I am unable to do so. I have informed him that you..."
