"it was black, square, made of a striped cloth." It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd and al-Tirmidhī (1680) and Aḥmad (4/297), and al-Tirmidhī said: "A good and rare ḥadīth." I say: it is only good due to other supporting evidence because Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd, the freedman, is unknown. And Abū Yaʿqūb—whose name is Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm—is weak. There is another supporting narration from ʿĀṣim from al-Ḥārith ibn Ḥassān who said: "I arrived in Medina and saw the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) standing on the pulpit, and Bilāl was standing before him, wearing a sword, and there was a black flag. I asked: Who is this? They said: This is ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ who has returned from a battle." It was also recorded by Ibn Mājah and Aḥmad (3/481) through the route of Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh from ʿĀṣim ibn Abī al-Najūd with this. In another narration by Aḥmad through the route of Salām ibn Sulaymān al-Naḥwī Abū al-Mundhir, ʿĀṣim ibn Abī al-Najūd narrated from Abū Wāʾil from al-Ḥārith with this. He inserted Abū Wāʾil between them. It was also recorded by al-Tirmidhī (3269 and 3270), and he remained silent about it. I said: Its chain is good, according to the other narration, which is the correct one, as the ḥāfiẓ said in "al-Tahdhīb."

"He had a cloak dyed with wars and saffron, which he would take around to his wives. When it was this one's night, he would sprinkle it with water, and when it was this one's night, he would sprinkle it with water, and when it was this one's night, he would sprinkle it with water." It was recorded by al-Khaṭīb al-Baghdādī in "Tārīkh" (13/320) from Muʾammal ibn Ismāʿīl who narrated to us from ʿUmārah ibn Zādhān from Thābit from Anas who said: and he mentioned it as elevated
