the fifth: al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib said: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was a man of medium height..." the ḥadīth. It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī in "al-Shamāʾil" (p. 13) and Abū Yaʿlá (2/478).

- "The most beloved color to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was green." It was recorded by al-Bazzār in "Musnad" (p. 171 - Zawāʾid) through the route of Suwayd from Qatādah from Anas, and he said: "We do not know anyone who narrated it from Qatādah from Anas except Suwayd Abū Ḥātim." I said: He is truthful but has poor memory, and he makes mistakes. He was corroborated, for Ibn Jurayj said: Abū Bakr al-Hudhalī informed me from Qatādah who said: "We went out with Anas to a land called al-Zāwiyah, and Ḥanẓalah al-Sadūsī said: How beautiful this green is! Anas said: We used to say that the most beloved color to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was green." It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" (2/248/1). I said: And Abū Bakr al-Hudhalī is abandoned in ḥadīth. But it seems he was also corroborated, for al-Haythamī said after the ḥadīth (5/129): "It was narrated by al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and the men of al-Ṭabarānī are trustworthy." This clearly indicates that the men of al-Ṭabarānī are different from the men of al-Bazzār, and his men are trustworthy, and it is very unlikely that he would say that if al-Hudhalī was among them, so it is with al-Ṭabarānī through a route other than al-Hudhalī and Suwayd Abū Ḥātim.
