then it became clear to me what I hoped for regarding ʿAbd Allāh ibn Isḥāq al-ʿAṭṭār, as he is ʿAbd Allāh ibn Isḥāq al-Jawharī al-Baṣrī. Al-Mizzī mentioned him among those who narrated from al-Ḍaḥḥāk ibn Mukhallad Abū ʿĀṣim al-Nabīl, and likewise Ibn Ḥibbān in "al-Thiqāt" (8/363) said: "His ḥadīth is reliable." Thus, it is established that the isnād is good, and Allāh knows best.

"There was no character more detestable to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) than lying, and whenever he discovered it in someone among his Companions, he would withhold himself from them until he knew that they had repented." It was recorded by Ibn Saʿd in "al-Ṭabaqāt" who said: Khālid ibn Khudāsh informed us, Ḥammād ibn Zayd informed us from Ayyūb from Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah who said: ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā) said: and he mentioned it. Rūḥ ibn al-Qāsim also followed him from Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah with it. It was recorded by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in "Makārim al-Akhlāq" (p. 30). Aḥmad said (6/152): ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, Maʿmar informed us from Ayyūb from Ibn Abī Mulaykah or someone else from ʿĀʾishah who said: and he mentioned it similarly. I say: The first isnād's narrators are trustworthy despite the weakness of Khālid ibn Khudāsh, but he was followed as you saw, yet it is disconnected, as Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah was not mentioned to have seen anyone other than Anas from the Companions, and al-Bukhārī said: "Mursal," as will be mentioned. Naṣr ibn Ṭarīf al-Bāhilī connected it, from Ibrāhīm ibn Maysarah from ʿUbayd ibn Saʿd from ʿĀʾishah. It was recorded by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā (p. 32) but Ibn Ṭarīf is accused
