and there is another chain for the ḥadīth from Thawbān. It is narrated by Abū ʿAlī al-Dārsī: Talḥah ibn Zayd narrated to us from Thawr from Rāshid ibn Saʿd from Thawbān. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAdī (vol. 34, p. 1) who said: "Abū ʿAlī al-Dārsī, whose name is Bishr ibn ʿUbayd, is a rejected narrator, extremely weak." I said: al-Azdī declared him a liar, and in "al-Mīzān" he listed his ḥadīths and said: "These are unsound ḥadīths, and Allāh is the one whose help is sought." Then he listed another ḥadīth for him and said about it: "This is fabricated." In summary: the ḥadīth is ḥasan as al-Tirmidhī stated, with the supporting narration from Thawbān, excluding the addition in it, for I did not find a supporting narration for it. In fact, it was narrated in opposition with the wording: "Sins do not decrease provision, nor do good deeds increase it..." I said: but it is fabricated as I verified in "al-Aḥādīth al-Ḍaʿīfah" (no. 179), so it is not suitable to oppose the aforementioned addition. His statement (the decree), he meant by it here the predetermined matter if not for his supplication. And his statement (nor does it increase lifespan), means the lifespan that would have been shortened if not for his righteousness.
وللحديث طريق أخرى عن ثوبان. يرويه أبو علي الدارسي: حدثنا طلحة بن زيد عن ثور عن راشد بن سعد عن ثوبان. أخرجه ابن عدي (ق ٣٤ / ١) وقال: " أبو علي الدارسي بشر بن عبيد منكر الحديث، بين الضعف جدا ". قلت: وكذبه الأزدي، وساق له في " الميزان " أحاديث وقال: " وهذه أحاديث غير صحيحه، فالله المستعان ". ثم ساق له آخر وقال فيه: " وهذا موضوع ". والخلاصة: أن الحديث حسن كما قال الترمذي بالشاهد من حديث ثوبان، دون الزيادة فيه، فإني لم أجد لها شاهدا، بل روي ما يعارضها بلفظ: " إن الرزق لا تنقصه المعصية، ولا تزيده الحسنة.. " قلت: ولكنه موضوع كما حققته في " الأحاديث الضعيفة " (رقم ١٧٩) فلا يصلح لمعارضة الزيادة المشار إليها. قوله (القضاء) ، أراد به هنا الأمر المقدر لولا دعاؤه. وقوله (ولا يزيد في العمر) ، يعني العمر الذي كان يقصر لولا بره.
- "The people embraced Islam and ʿAmr ibn al-ʿĀṣ believed." It was narrated by al-Ruyānī in "Musnad" (vol. 9, p. 50, 1-2) through the chain of Ibn Abī Maryam and ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb who informed us from Ibn Lahīʿah from Musharrah ibn Hāʿān from ʿUqbah in a marfūʿ manner
