"he is not followed in his ḥadīth." He also presented another ḥadīth for him. As for this one, it has many supporting narrations, some of which have been previously cited under number (526). Baḥshal mentioned it in his biography, without any criticism or endorsement, which is why I included it, especially since I have not seen anyone mention it from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAbbās. " لا يتابع على حديثه ". وساق له حديثا آخر، وأما هذا فله شواهد كثيرة، سبق تخريج بعضها برقم (٥٢٦) ، وقد ذكره بحشل في ترجمته، ولم يذكر له فيها جرحا ولا تعديلا، ولذلك خرجته، ولاسيما أني لم أر أحدا ذكره من حديث ابن عباس. والله أعلم.
"Indeed, there are people who recite the Quran, but it does not go beyond their throats. They will exit Islam as an arrow passes through the prey." It was recorded by al-Dārimī (1/68-69) and Baḥshal in "Tārīkh Wāsiṭ" (p. 198 - edited by ʿAwād) through two chains from ʿUmar ibn Yaḥyá ibn ʿAmr ibn Salamah al-Hamdānī, who said: My father told me, who said: My father told me, who said: "We used to sit at the door of ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd before the morning prayer. When he came out, we would walk with him to the mosque. Abū Mūsá al-Ashʿarī came to us and asked: Has Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān come out to you yet? We said: No. So he sat with us until he came out. When he came out, we all stood up with him. Abū Mūsá said to him: O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān! I have just seen something in the mosque that I disapproved of, but I did not see anything but good, praise be to Allāh. He said: What is it? He said: If you live, you will see it. He said: I saw in the mosque a group of people sitting in circles waiting for the prayer. In each circle, there is a man, and in their hands are pebbles. He says: Say takbīr a hundred times, and they say takbīr a hundred times. He says: Say tahlīl a hundred times, and they say tahlīl a hundred times. He says: Say tasbīḥ a hundred times, and they say tasbīḥ a hundred times. He said: What did you say to them? He said: I did not say anything to them, waiting for your opinion. He said: Would you not have ordered them to count their sins, and assured them that nothing of their good deeds would be lost? Then he went on, and we went with him, until he came to one of those circles. He stood over them and said: What is this that I see you doing? They said: O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān! We are counting the takbīr, tahlīl, and tasbīḥ with pebbles. He said: Count your sins, for I assure you that none of your good deeds will be lost
- " إن قوما يقرءون القرآن، لا يجاوز تراقيهم، يمرقون من الإسلام كما يمرق السهم من الرمية ". أخرجه الدارمي (١ / ٦٨ - ٦٩) ، وبحشل في " تاريخ واسط " (ص ١٩٨ - تحقيق عواد) من طريقين عن عمر بن يحيى بن عمرو بن سلمة الهمداني قال: حدثني أبي قال: حدثني أبي قال: " كنا نجلس على باب عبد الله بن مسعود قبل صلاة الغداة، فإذا خرج مشينا معه إلى المسجد، فجاءنا أبو موسى الأشعري، فقال: أخرج إليكم أبو عبد الرحمن بعد؟ قلنا: لا، فجلس معنا حتى خرج، فلما خرج قمنا إليه جميعا، فقال له أبو موسى: يا أبا عبد الرحمن! إنى رأيت في المسجد آنفا أمرا أنكرته، ولم أر والحمد لله إلا خيرا، قال: فما هو؟ فقال: إن عشت فستراه، قال: رأيت في المسجد قوما حلقا جلوسا، ينتظرون الصلاة، في كل حلقة رجل، وفي أيديهم حصى، فيقول: كبروا مائة، فيكبرون مائة، فيقول هللوا مائة، فيهللون مائة، ويقول سبحوا مائة، فيسبحون مائة، قال: فماذا قلت لهم؟ قال: ما قلت لهم شيئا انتظار رأيك، قال: أفلا أمرتهم أن يعدوا سيئاتهم، وضمنت لهم أن لا يضيع من حسناتهم شيء؟ ثم مضى ومضينا معه، حتى أتى حلقة من تلك الحلق، فوقف عليهم، فقال: ما هذا الذي أراكم تصنعون؟ قالوا: يا أبا عبد الرحمن! حصى نعد به التكبير والتهليل والتسبيح، قال: فعدوا سيئاتكم فأنا ضامن أن لا
