(2/213) and likewise by al-Ḍiyāʾ, numbers (120 and 121 in my verification), from Hammām, who narrated to us from Qatādah, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Buraydah, from Sulaymān ibn al-Rabīʿ al-ʿAdawī, from ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. al-Ḥākim said: "Its isnād is authentic." And al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the six [books], except for al-Rabīʿ ibn Sulaymān al-ʿAdawī, whom I do not know. Qatādah has another isnād for it, also narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/550) from Muʿādh ibn Hishām, who narrated to me from his father, from Qatādah, from Abū al-Aswad al-Dīlī, who said: I and Zurʿah ibn Ḍumrah al-Ashʿarī went to ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu), and we met ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr, who said: "It is likely that there will not remain in the land of the non-Arabs any Arabs except those who are killed or captured, and their blood will be judged." Zurʿah said: Will the polytheists prevail over Islam? He asked: From which tribe are you? He replied: From Banū ʿĀmir ibn Ṣaʿṣaʿah. He said: "The Hour will not be established until the women of Banū ʿĀmir contend over Dhū al-Khuṣlah—a pagan idol that was named in the pre-Islamic era." He said: We mentioned to ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb the statement of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr, and ʿUmar said three times: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr knows what he is saying. Then ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) delivered a khuṭbah on Friday and said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it similarly. He said: We mentioned ʿUmar's statement to ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr, and he said: The Prophet of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) spoke the truth if it is as I said. al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim." And in "al-Talkhīṣ" by al-Dhahabī: "According to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim." And this is correct, for all its narrators are from the narrators of the two Shaykhs [al-Bukhārī and Muslim]
