and it was also narrated by Ibn ʿAsākir (17/493/2) through another chain from ʿAbd Allāh. And Ibrāhīm is trustworthy, one of al-Bukhārī's men. Therefore, the heart is at ease and the soul is reassured by the earlier statement of al-Ḥāfiẓ al-ʿIrāqī: that it is a ḥadīth ḥasan. meaning for other than itself. Especially since some of its segments have supporting evidence, for example, the fourth segment has its evidence in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" by al-Ṭabarānī (no. 368). And the fifth has already been supported by no. 1851. And there are many ḥadīths with similar meanings, indeed they have reached the level of tawātur.
- "I am amazed at the patience and generosity of my brother Yūsuf - may Allāh forgive him - when he was sent for to be consulted about the dream, and if it were me, I would not have done so until I was released. And I am amazed at his patience and generosity - may Allāh forgive him - he came to be released but did not leave until he informed them of his excuse, and if it were me, I would have rushed to the door." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī (no. 11640) from Ibrāhīm ibn Yazīd ʿAmr ibn Dīnār from ʿIkrimah from Ibn ʿAbbās as a marfūʿ ḥadīth, and he added: "And if it were not for the word, he would not have remained in prison seeking relief from other than Allāh, his saying: * (mention me to your lord) *." And from this chain, it was narrated by Ibn Jarīr and others. I say: And this chain is very weak, this Ibrāhīm is al-Khūzī, abandoned in ḥadīth as mentioned in "Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid" (7/40) and "al-Taqrīb". Therefore, Ibn Kathīr said: "This ḥadīth is very weak." And he attributed it to ʿAbd al-Razzāq: Ibn ʿUyaynah informed us from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār from ʿIkrimah as a mursal ḥadīth without mentioning Ibn ʿAbbās in its chain, nor his saying: "And if it were not for the word..." at its end. And this is the correct version. However, it is authentic in another wording
