It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/460). However, this Abū Maʿshar, whose name is Najīḥ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sindī, is weak due to his memory, so his contradiction is not considered. There is another supporting narration for the ḥadīth from ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) which was mentioned earlier under number (1367). As for the ḥadīth cited by al-Suyūṭī in "al-Jāmiʿ" from the narration of Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī from Abū Umāmah, raised with the wording: "The visitor of the sick immerses in mercy, and when he sits with him, he is enveloped in mercy. Part of the completion of visiting the sick is that one of you places his hand on his face or on his hand and asks him how he is. And the completion of your greeting among you is the handshake." I said: It is found in Aḥmad's "Musnad" dispersed in two places (5/260 and 268) through the route of ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Zahr from ʿAlī ibn Yazīd from al-Qāsim from him. I said: And this isnād is very weak, ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Zahr from ʿAlī ibn Yazīd, who is al-Alhānī, is abandoned. And the ḥadīth, al-Tirmidhī extracted from it "the completion of visiting the sick..." and said (2/122): "Its isnād is not that strong." And it was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (7854) from the mentioned route in its entirety. (al-Mukharrifah): a path between two rows of palm trees that one can cross from whichever side he wishes, meaning to pick [the fruits]. And it was said: al-Mukharrifah is the road. Meaning that it is on a path that leads him to the path of Paradise. "Nihāyah."
