I said: The ḥāfiẓ did not comment on it, and Abū ʿImrān al-Kūfī is unknown to me. Among the narrators known by this kunyah is Ibrāhīm ibn Yazīd al-Nakhaʿī al-Kūfī, the jurist, but he predates this, and Allāh knows best. Al-Kharāʾiṭī narrated in "Makārim al-Akhlāq" (p. 85) through the route of Shahr ibn Ḥawshab from Ibn ʿAbbās who said: "Thunder is an angel driving the clouds as a camel driver drives camels with his singing." Shahr is weak due to his poor memory. In summary, the ḥadīth is ḥasan in my view at the lowest level. There are many other reports on this topic, which al-Suyūṭī mentioned in "al-Durr al-Manthūr," and whoever wishes may refer to them.

"The angels do not accompany a group with a bell." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī (2/291) and Aḥmad (2/27) through various routes from Nāfiʿ ibn ʿUmar al-Jumaḥī from Abū Bakr ibn Mūsá who said: I was with Sālim ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿUmar, and a caravan of Umm al-Banīn passed by with bells, so Sālim narrated from his father from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) that he said: (and he mentioned it), so how many bells do you see among them?! I said: Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of the two Shaykhs, except for Abū Bakr ibn Mūsá, whose name is Bukayr ibn Mūsá, and he is Abū Bakr ibn Abī Shaykh, and he is among the unknowns, as no one narrated from him except Nāfiʿ ibn ʿUmar, and no one has declared him reliable.
