It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd, Ibn Mājah, and Aḥmad (2/18) from Zayd al-ʿAmī through Abū al-Ṣiddīq al-Nājī from him. Zayd al-ʿAmī is weak. However, there is another route narrated by Ayyūb from Nāfiʿ from Ibn ʿUmar with a similar meaning. It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī and al-Bayhaqī with a sound chain.

- "Gold and silk are permissible for the females of my community, forbidden for its males." It was narrated by Samawayh in "al-Fawāʾid" (35/1): Saʿīd ibn Sulaymān narrated to us, ʿAbbād narrated to us, Saʿīd ibn Abī ʿArūbah narrated to me from Thābit from Zayd ibn Thābit ibn Zayd ibn Arqam who said: My aunt Anīsah bint Zayd ibn Arqam narrated to me from her father Zayd ibn Arqam as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. From this perspective, it was recorded by al-Ṭaḥāwī in "Sharḥ al-Maʿānī" (2/245), al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (5125), and al-ʿUqaylī in "al-Ḍuʿafāʾ" (p. 62) who said: "This is narrated with other isnāds that are acceptable." I said: Its narrators are trustworthy except for Anīsah bint Zayd ibn Arqam, whom I do not know. Thābit ibn Zayd ibn Thābit, al-ʿUqaylī narrated from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad who said: "I asked my father about him? He said: Ibn Abī ʿArūbah narrated from her, and Muʿtamir narrated to us from him, he has strange ḥadīths. I said: Do you narrate from him? He said: Yes, I said: Is he weak? He said: I narrate from him." Ibn Ḥibbān said: "Most of his ḥadīths are illusions, he is not relied upon when he is alone."
