Aḥmad also narrated it as mentioned in "al-Majmaʿ" and al-Ṭabarānī, except that he said: from his father from his grandfather. al-Ḥāfiẓ mentioned in the biography of Abū Yazīd from "al-Iṣābah" these aspects of the differences and others, then he said: "and the inconsistency in it is from ʿAṭāʾ ibn al-Sāʾib, for he became confused". I say: so the statement of al-Saffārīnī in "Sharḥ al-Thulāthiyyāt" (1/162): "al-Ṭabarānī narrated it with a ṣaḥīḥ isnād", is not correct! Yes, the ḥadīth is ṣaḥīḥ due to other evidence, for I found a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Jābir (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "Leave the people so Allāh may provide for some of them through others..." etc. It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī (5/347) with a weak isnād from him. But the first part of it is ṣaḥīḥ from him, recorded by Muslim and others through another route from Jābir as a marfūʿ ḥadīth, and it is included in "Aḥādīth Buyūʿ al-Mawsūʿah". And the other part of it has supporting evidence from the narration of Abū Hurayrah at the end of his ḥadīth: "The rights of a Muslim over another Muslim are six... and if he seeks your advice, advise him...". It was recorded by Muslim and others, and its documentation has passed under number (1832).
