It was recorded by al-Ḥakīm al-Tirmidhī, al-Ṭabarānī, and al-Ḥākim (4/406-407), and he remained silent about it, as did al-Dhahabī. I said: Its chain is weak; this Hūd is mentioned in "al-Mīzān": "He is hardly known, and Ṭālib ibn Ḥujayr is the only one who narrated from him." 5 - As for the ḥadīth of ʿAlī, it is narrated by ʿĪsá ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿUmar ibn ʿAlī from his father from his grandfather from ʿAlī in a marfūʿ form. It was recorded by Ibn ʿAdī and Abū Nuʿaym. This ʿĪsá was mentioned by Ibn Ḥibbān in "al-Thiqāt" and he said: "In his ḥadīth, there are some oddities." 6 - As for the ḥadīth of some of the delegation of ʿAbd al-Qays, it is narrated by Yaḥyá ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-ʿAṣarī who said: Shihāb ibn ʿAbbād told us that he heard some of the delegation of ʿAbd al-Qays saying: He mentioned it in a marfūʿ form similarly, and its wording is: "Indeed, it is the best of your dates and the most beneficial for you." And it includes the story of the delegation. It was recorded by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (1198) and Aḥmad (4/206-207). I said: Its narrators are trustworthy, except for this al-ʿAṣarī; al-Dhahabī said: "A Basran who is unknown." In summary, the ḥadīth is authentic in my view due to the totality of its witnesses, as most of them are not severely weak. And Allāh knows best.
