and another witness with the wording: "A believer does not gain anything after the consciousness of Allāh better for him than a righteous wife..." the ḥadīth. It is recorded in the other book under number (4421) and in "al-Mishkāt" (3095).

"The best of my nation is the generation in which I was sent, then those who follow them, (then those who follow them) - and Allāh knows best whether I mentioned the third or not - then there will come people who love obesity, they testify before being asked to testify." It was recorded by Muslim (7/184), al-Ṭayālisī (p. 332, no. 2550), and Aḥmad (2/228, 410, 479) through the route of Abū Bishr from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Shafīq from Abū Hurayrah as marfūʿ. The content within the parentheses is an addition by Aḥmad in one of his narrations. And he has it with him (2/297, 340) through the route of Muḥammad ibn ʿAjlān from his father from Abū Hurayrah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was asked: "Who are the best of people?" He said: "I and those with me, then those who follow, then those who follow." Then it was as if he dismissed the remainder. This is a good chain. It has a witness from the ḥadīth of ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn which is: "The best of my nation are those among whom I was sent, then those who follow them, then those who follow them - and Allāh knows best whether I mentioned the third or not - then there will appear people who testify without being asked to testify, make vows they do not fulfill, betray and are not trustworthy, and obesity will spread among them."
