and the ḥadīth has a corroborating narration from ʿĀṣim ibn Laqīṭ, narrated by Dallahm ibn al-Aswad, who is considered acceptable by al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar. It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/13-14). al-Tirmidhī narrated (4/132 - Tuhfah) from Junayd from Ibn ʿUmar in a marfūʿ form: "Hell has seven gates, one of which is for those who unsheathe the sword against my community." He said: "This is a strange ḥadīth," meaning weak. Junayd was not deemed trustworthy by anyone other than Ibn Ḥibbān, and it is said that he did not hear from Ibn ʿUmar. In summary, the ḥadīth, with all these chains, is authentic, and the first part of it is more authentic, as it has corroborations in the "Ṣaḥīḥayn" and others. - "Maintain the two afternoon prayers: a prayer before sunrise and a prayer before sunset." Narrated by Abū Dāwūd (453 - Ṣaḥīḥ) and al-Ṭaḥāwī in "al-Mushkil" (1/440) and Ibn Ḥibbān (282) and al-Ḥākim (1/20, 3/628) and al-Bayhaqī and al-Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar in "al-Aḥādīth al-ʿAliyyāt" (no. 31) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Faḍālah al-Laythī from his father Faḍālah who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) taught me, and among what he taught me was that he said to me: "Maintain the five prayers." I said: There are times when I am occupied, so command me with a comprehensive matter that if I do it, it will suffice for me. He mentioned it. al-Ḥāfiẓ said: "This ḥadīth is authentic, but there is a problem in the text because it suggests the permissibility of limiting oneself to the two afternoon prayers. It can be interpreted as referring to congregational prayer, as if he was given a concession to miss attending some prayers in congregation, not to omit them entirely."
