- "A wind will come before the Hour, taking the souls of every believer." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/420): ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us, saying: Maʿmar informed us from Ayyūb from Nāfiʿ from ʿAyyāsh ibn Abī Rabīʿah who said: I heard the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: and he mentioned it. It was also recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/489) through the route of al-Duburī: ʿAbd al-Razzāq informed us ... and he said: "Authentic according to the criteria of al-Shaykhayn." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said. There are supporting narrations from the ḥadīth of al-Nawās ibn Samʿān at the end of his long ḥadīth about the Dajjāl and the descent of ʿĪsá (peace be upon him) with the wording: "While they are in that state, Allāh will send a pleasant wind, which will take them under their armpits, taking the soul of every believer and every Muslim..." It was recorded by Muslim (8/197-198) and al-Tirmidhī (2/38-39) and he authenticated it, and Ibn Mājah number (4075) and Aḥmad (4/181-182). And from the ḥadīth of Ḥudhayfah ibn Asīd al-Ghifārī with al-Ḥākim (3/594) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Kabīr" (3028 and 7037). And from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿAmr, raised [to the Prophet] with the wording: "Then Allāh will send a cold wind from the direction of al-Shām, and no one with an atom's weight of faith in his heart will remain except that it will take him, even if one of them were in the heart of a mountain, it would reach him." It was recorded by Aḥmad (2/166) with an authentic chain from him.
