"they pray for you, and if they are correct, it is for you and for them, and if they err, it is for you and against them." It was recorded by al-Bukhārī and Aḥmad (2/355) and Ibn Ḥibbān (375) with similar wording. It also has a supporting narration from ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir, reported as marfūʿ with similar wording, and it is included in "Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd" (593).

- "The Anṣār are my inner garment and the people are my outer garment. If the people were to take a valley or a path and the Anṣār took a valley, I would take the valley of the Anṣār. If it were not for the migration, I would be one of the Anṣār." It was recorded by Ibn Mājah (164) from ʿAbd al-Muhaymin ibn ʿAbbās ibn Sahl ibn Saʿd from his father from his grandfather that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. Al-Būṣīrī said in "al-Zawāʾid" (12/1): "This isnād is weak, and the flaw in it is from ʿAbd al-Muhaymin ibn ʿAbbās, while the rest of the narrators in the isnād are trustworthy." It was narrated by al-Tirmidhī in "al-Jāmiʿ" from the ḥadīth of Ubayy ibn Kaʿb, except that he did not say: "The Anṣār are my inner garment and the people are my outer garment," and he said: "If they took" instead of "if they were to take," and the rest is similar, and he said: "It is a ḥasan ḥadīth." I say: This ḥadīth is very authentic, and al-Būṣīrī fell short in its regard when he only cited the ḥadīth of al-Tirmidhī as evidence, giving the impression that it has no other supporting narrations, which is not the case. Worse than that is the work of al-Suyūṭī, as he included it in "al-Ziyādah ʿalá al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" (p. 69/1) only from the narration of Ibn Mājah from Sahl, whereas he should have mentioned some of the supporting narrations that indicate its authenticity from other sources, even if some of the wording differs as is often his habit. Therefore, I found it necessary to mention..
