al-Dhahabī said in "his summary": "al-Ḥākim remained silent about its authentication, and Muslim is abandoned." 3 - The ḥadīth of Buraydah, and it has three routes from him: the first: from Ibn ʿAbbās from him who said: I went out with ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) to Yemen and I saw something objectionable from him. When I returned to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), I mentioned ʿAlī and criticized him, and the face of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) changed. He said: "O Buraydah! Am I not more entitled to the believers than they are to themselves?" I said: Yes, O Messenger of Allāh. He said: "Whomever I am his master, ʿAlī is his master." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī and al-Ḥākim (3/110) and Aḥmad (5/347) through the route of ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Abī Ghuniyah who said: al-Ḥakam informed us from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr from Ibn ʿAbbās. I say: This isnād is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim, and al-Ḥākim's authentication according to Muslim's criteria alone is insufficient. Ibn Abī Ghuniyah is with an open ghayn and a kasrah on the nūn and a shaddah on the yāʾ, and in the mentioned sources it appears as (ʿUyainah) which is a typographical error, and this is the name of his grandfather and his father's name is Ḥumayd. the second: from Ibn Buraydah from his father "that he passed by a gathering and they were speaking ill of ʿAlī, so he stood over them and said: There was something in my heart against ʿAlī, and Khālid ibn al-Walīd was likewise. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) sent me on an expedition led by ʿAlī, and we captured some captives. ʿAlī took a slave girl from the fifth for himself, and Khālid ibn al-Walīd said: Take it, so when we returned to the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), I began to tell him what had happened, and then I said: ʿAlī took a slave girl from the fifth. I was a man who kept his head down, so I raised my head and saw the face of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) had changed, and he said..." and he mentioned the first part
