"O people, no prophet has been sent except that he lived half the lifespan of the one before him, and I am soon to be called and I will respond. I am leaving among you what will prevent you from going astray after me: the Book of Allāh..." The ḥadīth continues with the ḥadīth of the chapter without his saying: "O Allāh, befriend..." It was recorded by al-Ṭabarānī (4986), and its narrators are trustworthy. Fifth: from ʿAṭiyyah al-ʿAwfī who said: I asked Zayd ibn Arqam... and he mentioned it similarly without the addition, except that he said: "I said to him: Did he say: O Allāh, befriend those who befriend him and oppose those who oppose him? He said: I am only telling you as I heard." It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/368) and al-Ṭabarānī (5068-5071). Its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of Muslim, except for ʿAṭiyyah, who is weak. And it has other chains with al-Ṭabarānī (4983, 5058, and 5059) which are not free from weakness. 2 - Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, and there are three chains from him: the first: from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sābiṭ from him, raised [to the Prophet] with only the first part. It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī in "al-Khaṣāʾiṣ" (16) and its chain is also authentic, its narrators are trustworthy, the narrators of al-Bukhārī except for Ayman, the father of ʿAbd al-Wāḥid, and he is trustworthy as in "al-Taqrīb."
