"It reached al-Ḥārith—a man from Quraysh who was in Syria—that Abū Dharr was in need, so he sent him three hundred dinars. [Abū Dharr] said: 'Has no servant of Allāh been found who is more insignificant to Him than I am? I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: (and he mentioned something similar) and the family of Abū Dharr had forty dirhams, forty sheep, and two maidservants. Abū Bakr ibn ʿAyyāsh said: meaning two servants.'" I said: And this is a good isnād, though it is mursal because Ibn Sīrīn did not meet Abū Dharr, as Abū Ḥātim said. Al-Haythamī said (9/331): "Its men are the men of 'al-Ṣaḥīḥ' except for ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Yūnus, and he is trustworthy." It misses the connection I pointed out, but it is a good isnād in supporting evidence.

- "Only a believer loves you, and only a hypocrite hates you." It was recorded by Muslim (1/61), al-Nasāʾī (2/271), al-Tirmidhī (2/301), Ibn Mājah (114), Aḥmad (1/84, 95, 128), and al-Khaṭīb in "al-Tārīkh" (14/426) through various routes from al-Aʿmash from ʿAdī ibn Thābit from Zur ibn Ḥubaysh from ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I said: It has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Umm Salamah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. It was recorded by al-Tirmidhī (2/299) and Aḥmad (6/293), and al-Tirmidhī said: "A good and rare ḥadīth."
