It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (3114), Ibn Ḥibbān (2575), and al-Ḥākim (1/340), and from him by al-Bayhaqī (3/384), from Yaḥyá ibn Ayyūb, from Ibn al-Hād, from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī: that when death approached him, he called for new clothes and wore them, then said: I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam): and he mentioned it. Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī and Muslim." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him, and it is as they said.

- "Indeed, people will migrate to you, and you will not migrate to them. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muḥammad, no man loves the Anṣār until he meets Allāh except that he meets Allāh while He loves him, and no man hates the Anṣār until he meets Allāh except that he meets Allāh while He hates him." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/429) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (no. 3356) through the route of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Sulaymān ibn al-Ghasīl, who said: Ḥamzah ibn Abī Usayd informed us, and his father was a participant at Badr, from al-Ḥārith ibn Ziyād al-Sāʿidī al-Anṣārī: that he came to the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) on the day of the trench while he was pledging allegiance to people for migration, and said: O Messenger of Allāh, pledge allegiance to this one. He said: And who is this? He said: My cousin, Ḥūṭ ibn Yazīd or Yazīd ibn Ḥūṭ. The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: I will not pledge allegiance to you: indeed, people.... I say: This isnād is good, its men are trustworthy according to the criteria of al-Bukhārī, and there is some discussion about Ibn al-Ghasīl which does not harm it. Saʿīd ibn al-Mundhir ibn Abī Ḥumayd al-Sāʿidī also followed him in part of it, from Ḥamzah, with it being raised to the Prophet with the wording: "Whoever loves the Anṣār, Allāh will love him on the day he meets Him, and whoever hates the Anṣār, Allāh will hate him on the day he meets Him."
