"one who, when he recites the Qurʾān, becomes sorrowful by it." This was also narrated by Abū Nuʿaym in "al-Ḥilyah" (4/19) through the route of al-Ṭabarānī. Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAmr followed him, reporting from Masʿar ibn Kidām from ʿAbd al-Karīm al-Muʿallim from Ṭāwūs with it, except that he said: "one who, when you hear him recite, you see that he fears Allāh." Ismāʿīl is weak. However, he was followed by Jaʿfar ibn ʿAwn at al-Dārimī (2/471), but he did not mention Ibn ʿAbbās in his isnād. In this wording, it is more authentic in my view due to its coming from other routes, and for that reason, I relied on it in "Ṣifat al-Ṣalāh." It was narrated by al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah" (63/13/2) through the route of Sufyān from Ibn Jurayj from ʿAṭāʾ from Ibn ʿAbbās similar to the wording of the translation. Its narrators are trustworthy. Thus, it is a ṣaḥīḥ isnād if Ibn Jurayj heard it from ʿAṭāʾ. This supports the wording I authenticated from one perspective, and it clarifies that the ḥadīth is from Ibn ʿAbbās and not ʿĀʾishah from another perspective.

"The best servants of Allāh, the Exalted, on the Day of Resurrection are those who praise Him much." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (from the ḥadīth of ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn in a marfūʿ form, and among them are those whom I do not know, as al-Haythamī said (10/95). However, it is supported by what Aḥmad narrated (4/434) through the route of Muṭarrif who said: ʿImrān said to me: "I am narrating to you a ḥadīth today, so that Allāh may benefit you with it after today. Know that the best servants of Allāh on the Day of Resurrection are those who praise Him much, and know that there will always remain a group from the people of Islam..
