I said: This is a sound isnād according to the criteria of Muslim, and he included it in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (8/34) except for the statement: "for it is charity for you." It is also in "al-Adab" and a narration by Aḥmad. It was also narrated by al-Qaḍāʿī (63/1) with a weak isnād from Anas as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. The wording of Muslim is: "Set aside..." and it is a narration by Aḥmad.

- "Wipe over the leather socks (for three days). Meaning during travel." It was narrated by Aḥmad (5/213) and al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (no. 3755) through various chains from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn ʿAbd al-Ṣamad al-ʿAmī who informed us from Manṣūr from Ibrāhīm al-Taymī from ʿAmr ibn Maymūn al-Awdī from Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Jadali from Khuzaymah ibn Thābit al-Anṣārī that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. He added, "If we had asked for more, he would have given us more." Jarīr followed him from Manṣūr with it. It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī (3757) and Ibn Ḥibbān (183), and the addition is theirs. I said: Thus it appears in this narration without specifying the traveler, and Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated it well, saying: from Manṣūr with it, and his wording: "We asked the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) about wiping over the leather socks? He permitted it for the traveler for three days and nights, and for the resident one day and night." It was narrated by Aḥmad (5/213) and al-Ṭabarānī (3754). This is a sound isnād. The ḥadīth was also narrated by Abū Dāwūd and other authors of the sunan, as well as Aḥmad, al-Ṭabarānī, and others through numerous other chains from Ibrāhīm with it.
