It was recorded by Muslim (1/118), Abū ʿAwānah (1/186), al-Dārimī (2/331-332), Ibn Mājah (2/582-583), Aḥmad (3/11 and 78-79), and al-Ṭabarī in "al-Tafsīr" (1/552/797) through the route of Saʿīd ibn Yazīd Abū Salamah from Abū Naḍrah from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Abū Saʿīd al-Jurayrī also followed him from Abū Naḍrah with it. The second narration includes the addition. It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/20) and ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd in "al-Muntaqá min al-Musnad" (Q 95/2). Sulaimān al-Taymī also followed him from it. It was recorded by Abū ʿAwānah and ʿAbd ibn Ḥumayd. ʿUthmān ibn Ghayāth and ʿAwf also followed him from Abū Naḍrah with a similar narration. ʿUthmān added: "they will be burned and become like charcoal." It was recorded by Aḥmad (3/25 and 90) with a sound isnād. He also has another route (3/90) from Ibn Jurayj who informed me from Abū al-Zubayr from Abū Saʿīd that he heard the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say: "People will come out of the Fire who have been burned and were like coals, then the people of Paradise will continue to sprinkle water over them until they grow like cucumbers in the flood." Ibn Lahīʿah disagreed with him from Abū al-Zubayr from Jābir that Abū Saʿīd informed him of it.
