"it has no basis from the ḥadīth of Qatādah, and Baḥr is not followed upon it." Then it was narrated from al-Bukhārī that he said about it: "It is not considered strong by them, and there is no ḥadīth for this text that is established, and the narration in it is weak." And through the route of Baḥr, it was also narrated by Ibn ʿAdī (39/2) who said: "The weakness in his ḥadīth is evident, and it is closer to weakness." Then it was narrated by Ibn ʿAdī (213/2) from Abū ʿAbbād ibn Saʿīd al-Maqburī from his father from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth with the wording: "Few of my ummah will reach seventy years," and he said: "Abū ʿAbbād ʿAbd Allāh ibn Saʿīd al-Maqburī, most of what he narrates is evidently weak." However, it seems he was not alone in this, as al-Suyūṭī attributed it to al-Ḥakīm al-Tirmidhī from the ḥadīth of Abū Hurayrah with it. Al-Munāwī said: "And in it is Muḥammad ibn Rabīʿah, mentioned by al-Dhahabī in 'Dhail al-Ḍuʿafāʾ' and said: Unknown. And Kāmil Abū al-ʿAlāʾ was criticized by Ibn Ḥibbān." I said: Kāmil is among the men of Muslim and he is considered good in ḥadīth, and in 'Taqrīb': "Truthful but makes mistakes, from the seventh [generation]." And Kāmil ibn Rabīʿah is known for his truthfulness as mentioned earlier in ḥadīth (757) which is similar to this. Therefore, the ḥadīth is ḥasan in my view by itself or at least by its collective routes. And it has been narrated from the ḥadīth of Ibn ʿUmar as a marfūʿ ḥadīth with the wording of the title. It was extracted by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Kabīr' (no. 13594) through the route of Saʿīd ibn Rāshid al-Sammāk from ʿAṭāʾ from him
