It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "The Virtue of the Ten Days of Dhū al-Ḥijjah" (13/2) from Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ from al-Agharr ibn al-Ṣabāḥ from Khalīfah ibn Ḥuṣayn from ʿAlī as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I said: This isnād is acceptable for supporting evidence; its narrators are trustworthy except for Qays ibn al-Rabīʿ, who has poor memory, so his ḥadīth is considered ḥasan due to its supporting evidence. Among them is what is in "al-Muwaṭṭaʾ" (1/422/246) from Ziyād ibn Abī Ziyād, the client of ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAyyāsh ibn Abī Rabīʿah, from Ṭalḥah ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Kurayz that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: he mentioned it without saying "to Him belongs the dominion..." and added at the beginning: "The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of ʿArafah." This isnād is a sound mursal, and it was connected by Ibn ʿAdī and al-Bayhaqī in "al-Shuʿab" from Abū Hurayrah as a marfūʿ ḥadīth with the addition: "to Him belongs the dominion and to Him is due all praise, He gives life and causes death, in His hand is all good, and He is over all things competent." As in "al-Jāmiʿ al-Kabīr" (1/114/1) and "al-Ziyādah ʿalá al-Jāmiʿ al-Ṣaghīr" (Q29/1). Among them is from ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb from his father from his grandfather as a marfūʿ ḥadīth similar to it, including the addition in "al-Muwaṭṭaʾ" and the addition in "al-Shuʿab" without saying: "He gives life and causes death, in His hand is all good." It was extracted by al-Tirmidhī with a weak isnād, which I clarified in "Takhrīj al-Mishkāt" (2598). From this, it is clear that the statement: "He gives life..." is rejected, as this path is unique in narrating it. Among them is what was extracted by al-Aṣbahānī in "al-Targhīb" (331/1 - al-Madīnah) from Abū Marwān: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad narrated to us from ʿAmr ibn Abī ʿAmr from al-Muṭṭalib as a mursal, abbreviated with the wording:
