"and it has a mursal witness." In summary, the ḥadīth, with the combination of the two chains, is ḥasan. And Allāh knows best. It has another connected witness from the narration of Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb from Saʿd ibn Sinān, attributed to the Prophet with the wording: "Accept six from me, and I will guarantee you Paradise." They asked, "What are they?" He said, "When one of you speaks, he should not lie; when he promises, he should not break it; when he is entrusted, he should not betray; restrain your hands and guard your private parts." Al-Kharāʾiṭī recorded it in "Makārim al-Akhlāq" (p. 30) and al-Ḥākim (4/359) as a witness for the previous one, and its chain is ḥasan according to me; all its narrators are trustworthy except Saʿd ibn Sinān, who is truthful but has unique narrations. Thus, the ḥadīth is authentic with it.
" وله شاهد مرسل ". وجملة القول: أن الحديث بمجموع الطريقين حسن. والله أعلم. وله شاهد آخر متصل من رواية يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن سعد بن سنان عنه مرفوعا بلفظ: " تقبلوا لي بست، أتقبل لكم الجنة، قالوا: وما هي؟ قال: إذا حدث أحدكم فلا يكذب وإذا وعد فلا يخلف وإذا أئتمن فلا يخن وكفوا أيديكم واحفظوا فروجكم ". أخرجه الخرائطي في " مكارم الأخلاق " (ص ٣٠) والحاكم (٤ / ٣٥٩) شاهدا لما قبله، وسنده حسن عندي، رجاله كلهم ثقات غير سعد بن سنان وهو صدوق له أفراد. فالحديث صحيح به.
"Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramaḍān, and if you are unable, do not miss the last seven." ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad recorded it in "Zawāʾid al-Musnad" (1/133), narrated to me by Suwayd ibn Saʿīd, who informed me from ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn al-Ḥasan al-Hilālī, from Abū Isḥāq, from Hubayrah ibn Yarīm, from ʿAlī (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it. I said: This chain is weak; Suwayd ibn Saʿīd is weak, and his teacher al-Hilālī is truthful but makes mistakes, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy, except for the confusion of Abū Isḥāq al-Sabīʿī and his tadlīs. However, the ḥadīth is authentic, as it has a strong witness narrated by Shuʿbah from ʿUqbah ibn Ḥurayth, who said: I heard Ibn ʿUmar (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhumā) say: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said it, and he mentioned it with the wording: "Seek it in the last ten (meaning Laylat al-Qadr, and if one of you is weak or unable) (in another narration: or is overcome), do not miss the last seven." Muslim recorded it (3/170), al-Ṭayālisī (958 - his arrangement), and from him al-Bayhaqī (4/311), and Aḥmad (2/44, 75, 78, 91), and the other narration is his
" اطلبوا ليلة القدر في العشر الأواخر من رمضان، فإن غلبتم فلا تغلبوا على السبع البواقي ". أخرجه عبد الله بن أحمد في " زوائد المسند " (١ / ١٣٣) حدثني سويد بن سعيد أخبرني عبد الحميد بن الحسن الهلالي عن أبي إسحاق عن هبيرة بن يريم عن علي ﵁ أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: فذكره. قلت: وهذا سند ضعيف، سويد بن سعيد ضعيف، وشيخه الهلالي صدوق يخطىء وسائر رجاله ثقات على اختلاط أبي إسحاق وهو السبيعي وتدليسه. لكن الحديث صحيح، فإن له شاهدا قويا يرويه شعبة عن عقبة بن حريث قال: سمعت ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما يقول: قال رسول الله ﷺ فذكره بلفظ: " التمسوها في العشر الأواخر (يعني ليلة القدر، فإن ضعف أحدكم أو عجز) (وفي رواية: أو غلب) فلا يغلبن على السبع البواقي ". أخرجه مسلم (٣ / ١٧٠) والطيالسي (٩٥٨ - ترتيبه) وعنه البيهقي (٤ / ٣١١) وأحمد (٢ / ٤٤ و ٧٥ و ٧٨ و ٩١) والرواية الأخرى له.
