I heard Abū al-Walīd say: I have not seen anyone in Rayy more knowledgeable about ḥadīth than two men: Yaḥyá ibn al-Ḍarīs and Zāʾid al-Aṣbaʿ, meaning al-Sindī. My father was asked about him, and he said: "An elder." Abū ʿAwānah included him in his "Ṣaḥīḥ," and Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" as in "al-Lisān." I said: Thus, the ḥadīth with this isnād is good in my view. And Allāh knows best. 5 - As for the ḥadīth of Abū Burdah, it was recorded by Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sulamī in "Ādāb al-Ṣuḥbah" (p. 26) through the route of Abū al-Faḍl al-Marwazī, who narrated to us from ʿĪsá ibn Yūnus, who narrated from al-Sīnānī, who narrated from al-Ḥusayn ibn Wāqid, from Ibn Abī Burdah, from his father, as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I said: And this isnād is mursal. Its men are trustworthy, and al-Sīnānī's name is al-Faḍl ibn Mūsá. And Abū al-Faḍl al-Marwazī is called Ṣadaqah ibn al-Faḍl. But its transmitter, al-Sulamī, is weak and accused.

- "Accept Islam even if you dislike it." It was narrated by Aḥmad (3/19/181), Abū Bakr al-Shāfiʿī in "al-Rubāʿiyyāt" (1/98/1), and al-Ḍiyāʾ in "al-Mukhtārah" (100/1-2) through various routes from Ḥumayd, from Anas, that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to a man: Accept Islam. He said: I find myself disliking it. He said: So he mentioned it. I said: Its isnād is authentic according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs, and it is a thulāthī [three-narrator chain] according to Aḥmad.

- "Aslam, Ghaffār, Ashjaʿ, Muzaynah, Juhaynah, and whoever was from Banū Kaʿb are allies without exception, and Allāh and His Messenger are their allies." It was recorded by Aḥmad (5/417-418) who narrated to us from Yazīd, who narrated from Abū Mālik al-Ashjaʿī, who narrated from Mūsá ibn Ṭalḥah, from Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī, from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) with it. And it was recorded by al-Ḥākim (4/82) through the route of Yaḥyá ibn Jaʿfar, who narrated to us from Yazīd ibn Hārūn with it, and he said:
