and it was narrated from Ibn Numayr that he said about him: "A liar." and from al-Bukhārī that he mentioned him for fabricating ḥadīth. In "al-Mīzān": "Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal said: A liar." Then he presented this ḥadīth among his denounced narrations. All the scholars have agreed on the weakness of this ʿAṭṭār except for al-ʿAjlī, who said in the book "al-Thiqāt": "There is no harm in him." This should not be considered, contrary to al-Suyūṭī's action in "al-Taʿaqqubāt" (p. 38) and even though Ibn ʿIrāq followed him in "Tanzīh al-Sharīʿah" (265/2), because it is anomalous from the consensus, especially since it contradicts their principle "criticism takes precedence over endorsement." Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (2/255) from his father: "A denounced ḥadīth with no known origin." Second: Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlwān from Thawr ibn Yazīd with it. Ibn ʿAdī narrated it (96/2) and said: "Ibn ʿAlwān, most of his ḥadīths are fabricated, and he is among those who fabricate ḥadīth." Third: ʿAmr ibn Yaḥyā al-Qurashī narrated to us from Shuʿbah from Thawr ibn Yazīd with it. Abū Nuʿaym narrated it in "Akhbār Aṣbahān" (2/217). This al-Qurashī, Abū Nuʿaym said: "Abandoned in ḥadīth." al-Dhahabī said: "He brought a ḥadīth almost fabricated from Shuʿbah from Thawr..." then he presented another ḥadīth with the wording "The hearts of the children of Adam..." which has already been mentioned in the other book (511). 2 - As for the ḥadīth of ʿAlī, it was narrated by al-Khalʿī in "al-Fawāʾid" narrated to us by Abū al-ʿAbbās
