I said: It is weak due to Abū Jaʿfar al-Rāzī, for he has poor memory. Al-Ṭaḥāwī connected it in "al-Mushkil" (1/31) and al-Bayhaqī through the route of ʿUqayl from Ibn Shihāb, who informed me that Anas ibn Mālik narrated it without the phrase "And if you camp...". In it is Ruwaym ibn Yazīd, whom Ibn Abī Ḥātim mentioned (1/2/523) without any criticism or commendation, but al-Khaṭīb considered him reliable, so the chain is authentic as previously mentioned in number (682). I have extracted a portion of this ḥadīth there with references not seen here, so refer to them if you wish. ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ṣāliḥ disagreed, saying: al-Layth narrated it to me, except he did not mention Anas ibn Mālik in it. Al-Ṭaḥāwī recorded it, and ʿAbd Allāh is weak in it. However, the ḥadīth has a corroborating narration from Jābir, and its narrators are trustworthy, with no flaw except for the ʿanʿanah of al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī. Because of this, I included it in the other book (1140) as it is longer than this one, so the ḥadīth is ḥasan. And Allāh knows best. It has another corroborating narration from Abū Hurayrah, raised similarly. Recorded by Muslim (6/54), al-Ṭaḥāwī, Ibn Ḥibbān (972), al-Bayhaqī, and others. And (al-duljah): with ḍammah and fatḥah: traveling at night. And (al-taʿrīs): the traveler stopping at the end of the night for sleep and rest.

"The first thing by which a servant will be judged on the Day of Resurrection is prayer. If it is sound, the rest of his deeds will be sound, and if it is corrupt, the rest of his deeds will be corrupt." Narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (13/2 from its additions), [he] said: Aḥmad, who is Ibn (blank in the original), narrated to us, Ismāʿīl ibn ʿĪsá al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us, Isḥāq ibn Yūsuf al-Azraq narrated to us, al-Qāsim ibn ʿUthmān narrated to us from Anas, raised, and he said: "It is not narrated from Anas except through this isnād, and Isḥāq was unique in it." The author of "al-Zawāʾid" said: "Thus he said."
