then he mentioned a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Saʿīd ibn Zayd that the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "There will be tribulations after me in which there will be and there will be." We said: "If we reach that time, we will be destroyed." He said: "The killing of my companions is sufficient." In another narration: "People will perish in it quickly." He said: "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī with isnāds, one of which has trustworthy men, and it was also narrated by al-Bazzār in the same way." I said: Aḥmad also recorded it (1/189) with the second narration through the route of ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Maysarah from Hilāl ibn Yasāf from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ẓālim from Saʿīd ibn Zayd with it. I said: This isnād is good; its men are trustworthy, the men of Muslim, except for ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ẓālim. The ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful, but al-Bukhārī considered him weak." And ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Maysarah is Abū Zayd al-Hilālī al-Zarrād. His statement: "with isnāds" involves misleading leniency because its basis in "al-Kabīr al-Ṭabarānī" (numbers 345-348) is on Hilāl, so be aware.
ثم ذكر له شاهدا من حديث سعيد بن زيد أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: سيكون بعدي فتن يكون فيها ويكون، فقلنا: إن أدركنا ذلك هلكنا، قال: بحسب أصحابي القتل. وفي رواية: يذهب الناس فيها أسرع ذهاب. وقال: " رواه الطبراني بأسانيد، رجال أحدهما ثقات، ورواه البزار كذلك ". قلت: وأخرجه أحمد أيضا (١ / ١٨٩) بالرواية الثانية من طريق عبد الملك ابن ميسرة عن هلال بن يساف عن عبد الله بن ظالم عن سعيد بن زيد به. قلت: وهذا إسناد حسن رجاله ثقات رجال مسلم غير عبد الله بن ظالم، قال الحافظ: " صدوق لينه البخاري ". وعبد الملك بن ميسرة هو أبو زيد الهلالي الزراد. وقوله: " بأسانيد " فيه تساهل موهم لأن مدارها في " كبير الطبراني " (رقم ٣٤٥ - ٣٤٨) على هلال، فتنبه.
"The punishment of this nation is by the sword." It was recorded by al-Khaṭīb (1/317) through the route of al-Muʾammal who said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, he said: Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd narrated to us from Ḥumayd ibn Hilāl from Naṣr ibn ʿĀṣim from ʿUqbah ibn Mālik who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād has trustworthy men, the men of Muslim, except for al-Muʾammal who is Ibn Ismāʿīl al-Baṣrī. The ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful but poor in memory." However, it is supported by the ḥadīth of Abū Burdah who said: "I left the presence of ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Ziyād and saw him punishing severely, so I sat with a man from the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said" and he mentioned it. al-Haythamī said (7/225): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī and its men are the men of the authentic collections."
" عقوبة هذه الأمة بالسيف ". أخرجه الخطيب (١ / ٣١٧) من طريق المؤمل قال: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة قال: حدثنا يونس بن عبيد عن حميد بن هلال عن نصر بن عاصم عن عقبة بن مالك قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: فذكره. قلت: وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات رجال مسلم غير المؤمل وهو ابن إسماعيل البصري، قال الحافظ: " صدوق سيء الحفظ ". لكن يشهد له حديث أبي بردة قال: " خرجت من عند عبيد الله بن زياد، فرأيته يعاقب عقوبة شديدة، فجلست إلى رجل من أصحاب النبي ﷺ فقال: قال رسول الله ﷺ " فذكره. قال الهيثمي (٧ / ٢٢٥): " رواه الطبراني ورجاله رجال الصحيح ".
