"It was also recorded by al-Nasāʾī through the route of Jaʿfar ibn Sulaymān from Thābit in a more complete form, and its wording is: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) used to visit the Anṣār, greet their children, wipe over their heads, and pray for them." I said: And its isnād is authentic. It is similar in meaning to the ḥadīth of al-Mawqarī, thus it serves as a strong corroboration for it. It was also recorded by al-Ṭaḥāwī in "al-Mushkil" (1/498), Ibn Ḥibbān (2145), Abū Nuʿaym (6/291), and al-Khaṭīb (8/398) from this route.

"He used to wear a red cloak on the day of Eid." It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Awsaṭ" (53/2 - Zawāʾid) [who] reported to us from Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq - who is Ibn Rāhwayh - who reported from his father, who reported from Saʿd ibn al-Ṣalt from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad from his father from ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn from Ibn ʿAbbās as marfūʿ. I said: And this isnād is good, and all its men are trustworthy and well-known, except for Saʿd ibn al-Ṣalt, who is al-Bajalī, their client. Ibn Abī Ḥātim translated him (2/1/86) from the narration of several others about him and did not mention any criticism or commendation. He is in "Thiqāt Ibn Ḥibbān" (6/378), and al-Haythamī said (2/198): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ' and its men are trustworthy."

"When Iblīs rises in the morning, he sends out his troops, saying: Whoever leads a Muslim astray today, I will crown him. One of them comes and says: I did not leave him until he divorced his wife. He says: He is about to remarry. Another comes and says: I did not leave him until he disobeyed his parents. He says: He is about to honor them. Another comes and says: I did not leave him until he committed shirk. He says: You, you! Another comes and says: I did not leave him until he killed. He says: You, you! and he crowns him."
