" during the time of the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam), two men claimed lineage, and one of them said: 'I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so, who are you, you have no mother!' The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said..." and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is authentic, and all its men are reliable, the men of the two Shaykhs, except for Yazīd ibn Ziyād ibn Abī l-Jaʿd, who is trustworthy. Jarīr contradicted him and said: from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylá from Muʿādh ibn Jabal from the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam). and he mentioned it. And its men are also trustworthy, but al-Bayhaqī indicated a preference for the first. And Allāh knows best.

" when a man marries a virgin after a previously married woman, he stays with her for seven [days], and when he marries a previously married woman after a virgin, he stays with her for three [days]." It was recorded by al-Bayhaqī (7/302) and al-Khaṭīb in "al-Tārīkh" (10/406) from Abū Qilābah ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Raqāshī, who informed us from Abū ʿĀṣim from Sufyān from Ayyūb and Khālid from Abū Qilābah from Anas who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it. It was also recorded by Abū ʿAwānah in "Ṣaḥīḥ" who said: al-Ṣaghānī narrated to us from Abū Qilābah and said: "It is rare, and I do not know anyone who said it except Abū Qilābah." I said: He is truthful but makes mistakes; his memory changed when he settled in Baghdad, as mentioned in "al-Taqrīb," but he was not alone in narrating it, for Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq narrated it from Ayyūb from Abū Qilābah in a shortened form with the wording: "for the virgin seven and for the previously married three." It was recorded by al-Dārimī (2/144), Ibn Mājah (1916), and al-Dāraqūṭnī (409). And Muḥammad ibn Isḥāq is trustworthy, but he is a mudallis and has used ambiguous terms. However, the ḥadīth of Umm Salamah supports it in a raised form. It was recorded by Muslim (4/173). And al-Ḥāfiẓ discussed the ḥadīth of al-Raqāshī in "al-Fatḥ" (9/276), summarizing it
