"he said so, but it is actually Abū al-ʿAjfāʾ al-Sulamī, whose name is Hurm ibn Nasīb, a Shāmī." I said: There is a difference of opinion about him. Ibn Maʿīn and Ibn Ḥibbān considered him reliable, while al-Bukhārī said: "There is some doubt about his ḥadīth." And al-Shaybānī's name is al-Sarī ibn Yaḥyá, and he is trustworthy. Ḍumrah is Ibn Rabīʿah, and his ḥadīth is good, similar to al-Walīd ibn Shujāʿ, who is one of the narrators of Muslim. Ibn Saʿd narrated it (7/395) with a sound chain from Qays ibn Abī Ḥāzim as mursal. And through the path of Khālid ibn Samīr from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Rabāḥ al-Anṣārī who said: Abū Qatādah al-Anṣārī narrated to us in a marfūʿ form in a summarized story with the wording: "O Allāh, he is a sword from Your swords, so grant him victory." He said: On that day Khālid was named the Sword of Allāh.

- "he would lower the izār from the front and raise it from the back." Ibn Saʿd narrated it (1/459) with a sound chain from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb in a marfūʿ form. However, it is mursal. He and al-Bayhaqī connected it in "al-Shuʿab" (2/225/1) through the path of Muḥammad ibn Abī Yaḥyá, the client of the Aslamites, from ʿIkrimah, the client of Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: I saw Ibn ʿAbbās when he wore an izār, he would lower the front of his izār until its edges touched the back of his feet and raise the izār from behind. I said to him: Why do you wear the izār like this? He said: "I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) wearing the izār in this manner." I said: And this isnād is authentic. Then Ibn Saʿd narrated with a sound chain from Muḥammad ibn Abī Yaḥyá from a man from Ibn ʿAbbās who said: I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) wearing the izār below his navel, and his navel was visible, and I saw ʿUmar wearing the izār above his navel.

- "he disliked that anyone should step on his heel, but rather to the right and left." Al-Ḥākim narrated it (4/279) from Shaybān who narrated to us from Sulaymān ibn al-Mughīrah who narrated from Thābit al-Bunānī from Shuʿayb ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu)
