Ishāq ibn Muḥammad narrated to us from Usāmah ibn Zayd from Zayd ibn Aslam from Abū Ṣāliḥ and ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār from Abū Hurayrah who said: "We were with the Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) and people would pass by. The Messenger of Allāh would say: O Abū Hurayrah, who is this? I would say: So-and-so. He would say: Yes, a good servant of Allāh is so-and-so. Then someone would pass by and he would say: Who is this, O Abū Hurayrah? I would say: So-and-so. He would say: What a bad servant of Allāh. Until Khālid passed by, and I said: This is Khālid ibn al-Walīd, O Messenger of Allāh. He said: " and he mentioned it. I said: This isnād is weak, its narrators are trustworthy except for Ishāq ibn Muḥammad who is al-Farwī. Although he is among the narrators of al-Bukhārī, he has been deemed weak. The ḥāfiẓ said: "Truthful, but his memory deteriorated." Al-Ṭarsūsī is a traveling ḥadīth narrator, but he was accused of stealing ḥadīth. Ibn Ḥibbān mentioned him in "al-Thiqāt" and said: "He makes many mistakes." Abū ʿAwānah narrated from him in "Ṣaḥīḥ." Then it was narrated from the path of Aḥmad, and this is in "al-Musnad" (2/360) from Hāshim ibn Hāshim from Ishāq ibn al-Ḥārith ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Kinānah from Abū Hurayrah with a similar but abridged version, and it does not include "a sword from the swords of Allāh." Likewise, it was narrated by Ibn ʿAsākir from the path of Nuʿaym ibn Ḥammād who informed us from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad from ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Abī ʿAwn from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī from Abū Hurayrah. And from the path of al-Zubayr ibn Bakkār, Yaʿqūb ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsá al-Zuhrī narrated to me from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Muḥammad with it, and from the path of al-Fākihī, Abū Yaḥyá ibn Abī Murrah informed us, Yaʿqūb ibn Muḥammad informed us with it. I said: These are two other paths from Abū Hurayrah that strengthen the ḥadīth, for the first has all trustworthy narrators, so it is a sound isnād except that Abū Ḥātim said: Ibn Kinānah's narration from Abū Hurayrah is mursal. The other has reliable narrators, so it is a good connected chain except that ʿAbd al-Wāḥid ibn Abī ʿAwn was said by the ḥāfiẓ: "Truthful but makes mistakes."
