"as for the girl, send her to Jaʿfar, for her maternal aunt is with him, and the maternal aunt is like a mother." Al-Ḥākim said: "Authentic according to the criteria of Muslim." Thus he said, but Nāfiʿ ibn ʿUjayr is not among Muslim's narrators, and there is a difference in its isnād as mentioned in his biography in "al-Tahdhīb." The ḥadīth has a strong mursal corroboration with the wording: "The maternal aunt is like a mother." It was narrated by Ibn Saʿd (4/35-36) from Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad from his father, who said: Indeed, the daughter of Ḥamzah was walking among the men when ʿAlī took her by the hand and placed her with Fāṭimah in her litter. Then ʿAlī, Jaʿfar, and Zayd ibn Ḥārithah disputed over her until their voices were raised, waking the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) from his sleep. He said: "Come, I will judge between you regarding her and others." ʿAlī said: "She is my cousin, and I brought her out, so I have more right to her." Jaʿfar said: "She is my cousin, and her maternal aunt is with me." Zayd said: "She is my brother's daughter." He then spoke words pleasing to each of them and judged in favor of Jaʿfar, saying: (he mentioned it). Jaʿfar then stood and danced around the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) - circling him - and the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: "What is this?" He replied: "Something I saw the Abyssinians do for their kings." I say: Its isnād is authentic except that it is mursal.
" وأما الجارية فادفعي بها لجعفر فإن خالتها عنده وإنما الخالة أم ". وقال الحاكم: " صحيح على شرط مسلم ". كذا قال، ونافع بن عجير ليس من رجال مسلم، وقد اختلف في إسناده كما في ترجمته من " التهذيب ". وللحديث شاهد مرسل قوي بلفظ: " الخالة أم ". رواه ابن سعد (٤ / ٣٥ - ٣٦) عن جعفر بن محمد عن أبيه قال: إن ابنة حمزة لتطوف بين الرجال، إذا أخذ علي بيدها فألقاها إلى فاطمة في هودجها، قال: فاختصم فيها علي وجعفر وزيد بن حارثة حتى ارتفعت أصواتهم، فأيقظوا النبي ﷺ من نومه، قال: هلموا أقضي بينكم فيها وفي غيرها، فقال علي: ابنة عمي وأنا أخرجتها وأنا أحق بها، وقال جعفر: ابنة عمي وخالتها (١) عندي، وقال زيد: ابنة أخي، فقال في كل واحد قولا راضيا، فقضى بها لجعفر وقال: (فذكره) ، فقام جعفر فحجل حول النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم - دار عليه - فقال النبي ﷺ: ما هذا؟ قال: شيء رأيت الحبشة يصنعونه بملوكهم. قلت: وسنده صحيح لولا أنه مرسل.
- "When you recite: *All praise is due to Allāh* then recite: *In the name of Allāh, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate* for it is the Mother of the Qurʾān, the Mother of the Book, and the seven oft-repeated [verses], and *In the name of Allāh, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate* is one of them." It was recorded by al-Dāraqutnī (118), al-Bayhaqī (2/45), and al-Daylamī (1/1/70) through the route of Abū Bakr al-Ḥanafī who narrated to us from ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Jaʿfar, who informed me from Nūḥ ibn Abī Bilāl, from Saʿīd ibn Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī, from Abū Hurayrah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhu) who said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: he mentioned it
- " إذا قرأتم: * (الحمد لله) * فاقرءوا: * (بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم) * إنها أم القرآن وأم الكتاب والسبع المثاني و * (بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم) * إحداها ". أخرجه الدارقطني (١١٨) والبيهقي (٢ / ٤٥) والديلمي (١ / ١ / ٧٠) من طريق أبي بكر الحنفي حدثنا عبد الحميد بن جعفر أخبرني نوح بن أبي بلال عن سعيد ابن أبي سعيد المقبري عن أبي هريرة ﵁ قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: فذكره.
