towards Allāh with his face, so let none of you spit in his direction of prayer nor to his right, for the recorder of good deeds is on his right, but let him spit to his left." Ibn Naṣr recorded in "al-Ṣalāh" (24/1): Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyá narrated to us, Ḥajjāj narrated to us from Ḥammād from Ḥammād from Rabiʿī ibn Khurāsh that Shayth ibn Rabiʿī spat in his direction of prayer, so Ḥudhayfah said: The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said: and he mentioned it.
