"Five actions, whoever performs them in one day, Allāh will write him among the people of Paradise: visiting a sick person, attending a funeral, fasting a day, going to Friday prayer, and freeing a slave." It was narrated by Ibn Ḥibbān in his "Ṣaḥīḥ" (713) and also in "al-Thiqāt" (2/29) from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb, who reported from Ḥayywah ibn Sharīḥ that Bishr ibn Abī ʿAmr al-Khawlānī informed him that al-Walīd ibn Qays al-Tujībī informed him that Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī narrated it to him as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. I said: Its chain is authentic, and all its narrators are trustworthy and well-known. The ḥadīth was also recorded by Abū Yaʿlá as mentioned in "al-Jāmiʿ," but he narrated it with the wording: "... whoever fasts on Friday, goes to Friday prayer, visits a sick person, attends a funeral, and frees a slave." It is with this wording in "Musnad Abī Yaʿlá" (1/292) and its chain is also authentic, but some of its wording is abbreviated, which is clarified by another narration from him through the route of Ibn Wahb as well: Ibn Lahīʿah informed me from Yazīd ibn Abī Ḥabīb from al-Walīd ibn Qays with the wording: "Whoever's fasting coincides with Friday and visits a sick person..." and the ḥadīth continues similarly. This chain is also authentic, as Ibn Lahīʿah's ḥadīth is considered authentic when narrated by one of the ʿAbādilah, among whom is this ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb.
"Whatever a man gives to his wife is charity." It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/179) from Muḥammad ibn Ḥumayd al-Madīnī who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr ibn Umayyah narrated to us from his father as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. This chain is weak due to the weakness of Muḥammad ibn Ḥumayd, as it appears in the Musnad, and he is Muḥammad ibn Abī Ḥumayd. Al-Haythamī (4/119) and al-Ḥāfiẓ in "al-Taqrīb" said: "He is weak."
