and it was mentioned by the ḥāfiẓ al-Mizzī in "Tuhfatihi" (8/232/10962) from the narration of al-Nasāʾī only, and he said after it: "Muʿammar followed him from Ayūb from Ibn Sīrīn." This clearly indicates that Ayūb followed ʿĀṣim in his narration from Ibn Sīrīn with a chain from Abū al-Dardāʾ, so remember this for what follows. Then the ḥāfiẓ pointed to the musnad narration of Hishām from Ibn Sīrīn from Abū Hurayrah, then he said: "And it was narrated from Hishām from Ibn Sīrīn from some of the Companions of the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam)." He also said: "And it was narrated from Ayūb, Ibn ʿAwn, and Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn that the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said to Abū al-Dardāʾ." I say: this means that they sent it without mentioning Abū Hurayrah, and this narration of Ayūb is only narrated from him by Muʿammar, and from him by ʿAbd al-Razzāq in "al-Muṣannaf" (4/279/7803), and from him by al-Ṭabarānī in "al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr" (6/267-268), and it is from the narration of Isḥāq ibn Ibrāhīm al-Dabarī from ʿAbd al-Razzāq, and there is known discussion about it; because al-Dabarī heard from ʿAbd al-Razzāq when he was seven years old, and it is contrary to the first narration of Muʿammar from Ayūb which follows the narration of ʿĀṣim from Ibn Sīrīn with a chain as mentioned earlier by al-Mizzī; so remember. As for the narration of Ibn ʿAwn, it is the one mentioned there under the ḥadīth from the narration of Ibn Saʿd with an authentic chain from Ibn Sīrīn as mursal, and it includes the reason for the ḥadīth. As for the narration of Yūnus ibn ʿUbayd, I have not found anyone who connected it (1), and likewise the first narration of Muʿammar
