and Ibn Abī Ḥātim said in "al-ʿIlal" (2/288) from his father: "This is a rejected ḥadīth." In summary, the ḥadīth is authentic when considering the combined paths of Anas and the ḥadīth of Yazīd ibn Ṭalḥah. And Allāh, the Exalted, knows best.

"The scale will be set up on the Day of Resurrection, and if the heavens and the earth were weighed in it, they would fit. The angels will say: 'O Lord, for whom will this weigh?' Allāh will say: 'For whomsoever I will from My creation.' The angels will say: 'Glory be to You, we have not worshipped You as You deserve to be worshipped.' The path will be set like the edge of a sword, and the angels will say: 'Who will pass over this?' He will say: 'Whomsoever I will from My creation.' They will say: 'Glory be to You, we have not worshipped You as You deserve to be worshipped.'" It was narrated by al-Ḥākim (4/586) who said: Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn Hānīʾ told us, al-Musayyib ibn Zuhayr told us, Hudbah ibn Khālid told us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Thābit from Abū ʿUthmān from Salmān from the Prophet (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said "and he mentioned it." And he said: "This ḥadīth is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim." al-Dhahabī agreed with him. I say: There is some consideration, for although Hudbah ibn Khālid is among the shaykhs of Muslim, the narrator from him, al-Musayyib ibn Zuhayr, I have not seen anyone who declared him reliable. Al-Khaṭīb mentioned him (13/149), gave him the kunya Abū Muslim al-Tājir, and mentioned that a group narrated from him, and that he died in the year (285), without mentioning any criticism or endorsement. It was also narrated by al-Ājurī in "al-Sharīʿah" (382) from ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Maʿādh who said: My father told us, he said: Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated it, stopping at Salmān. Its chain is authentic, and it has the ruling of being elevated [to the Prophet], because it is not said from mere opinion.
