"Whoever has two faces in this world will have two tongues of fire on the Day of Resurrection." It was narrated by Abū Dāwūd (2/298) with this wording, and by al-Bukhārī in "al-Adab al-Mufrad" (188), ʿAbd Allāh ibn Aḥmad in "al-Zuhd" (p. 216), as well as al-Dārimī (2/314), and Abū Yaʿlá in "Musnad" (folio 98/2), and from him by Ibn Ḥibbān (1979), and Ibn ʿAsākir in "Tārīkh" (12/301/1) through the chain of narration from Sharīk, from al-Rukayn, from Nuʿaym ibn Ḥanẓalah, from ʿAmmār ibn Yāsir as a marfūʿ ḥadīth. Al-ʿIrāqī said (3/137): "Its chain is good." I say: It is plausible, as it has supporting narrations, including: "Whoever has two tongues, Allāh will make for him two tongues of fire on the Day of Resurrection." Al-Mundhirī said (4/31): "It was narrated by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā in the book 'al-Ṣamt', al-Ṭabarānī, al-Aṣbahānī, and others from Anas." Al-Haythamī said (8/95): "It was narrated by al-Ṭabarānī in 'al-Awsaṭ', and it includes Miqdām ibn Dāwūd who is weak, and it was narrated by al-Bazzār similarly, and by Abū Yaʿlá, and it includes Ismāʿīl ibn Muslim al-Makkī who is weak." I say: And through his route, it was narrated by al-Qaḍāʿī in "Musnad al-Shihāb" (folio 39/2), and it was narrated by Abū Yaʿlá in "Musnad" (2/738) from him, from al-Ḥasan and Qatādah, from Anas. In summary, the ḥadīth is authentic when considering all these routes. And Allāh knows best. It was also narrated by al-Khaṭīb (12/103) through the route of Abū Ḥafṣ al-ʿAbdī from Thābit, from Anas
