- "Tonight, verses have been revealed to me. Woe to those who recite them without pondering over them: (Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth) [the verse]." Narrated by Abū al-Shaykh Ibn Ḥibbān in "The Morals of the Prophet ﷺ" (200-201) and Ibn Ḥibbān in "His Ṣaḥīḥ" (523 - al-Mawārid) from Yaḥyá ibn Zakarīyā ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Suwayd al-Nakhaʿī, who reported from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Abī Sulaymān from ʿAṭāʾ who said: "ʿUbayd ibn ʿUmayr and I entered upon ʿĀʾishah (raḍiya Allāhu ʿanhā), and ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmayr said: Tell us about the most wondrous thing you saw from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. She wept and said: 'One night, he stood and said: O ʿĀʾishah, let me worship my Lord. She said: I said: By Allāh, I love your closeness and I love what pleases you. She said: So he stood, purified himself, and then stood to pray. He continued to weep until his lap was wet, then he wept. He continued to weep until the ground was wet, and Bilāl came to call for prayer. When he saw him weeping, he said: O Messenger of Allāh, you weep while Allāh has forgiven you your past and future sins? He said: Should I not be a grateful servant? Indeed, it has been revealed...' [the ḥadīth]. I said: And this is a good isnād, all its men are trustworthy except for Yaḥyá ibn Zakarīyā. Ibn Abī Ḥātim said (4/2/145): "I asked my father about him? He said: There is no harm in him, he is sound in ḥadīth." And the ḥadīth was attributed by al-Mundhirī in "al-Targhīb" (2/220) to Ibn Ḥibbān in "His Ṣaḥīḥ." There is another chain from ʿAṭāʾ.
