- "A messenger came to me and said: O Muḥammad, does it not please you that your Lord says: No one from your nation sends prayers upon you except that I send prayers upon him tenfold, and no one from your nation greets you except that I greet him tenfold? He said: Yes, indeed." It was recorded by al-Nasāʾī (1/191), al-Dārimī (2/317), Ibn Ḥibbān (2391), al-Ḥākim (2/420), and Aḥmad (4/30) through the route of Ḥammād ibn Salamah from Thābit from Sulaymān, the freedman of al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Ṭalḥah from his father: "The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) came one day with joy visible on his face, so they said: O Messenger of Allāh, we see joy on your face. He said...": and he mentioned it. The context is from Aḥmad, and in the narration of Ibn Ḥibbān: "I said: Yes, O my Lord." Al-Ḥākim said: "The chain of narration is authentic." Al-Dhahabī agreed with him. So he said! And this Sulaymān, al-Dhahabī himself said in "al-Mīzān": "No one narrated from him except Thābit al-Bannānī, and al-Nasāʾī said: He is not well-known." However, the ḥadīth is authentic, as it has another route narrated by Abū Maʿshar from Isḥāq ibn Kaʿb ibn ʿUjrah from Abū Ṭalḥah al-Anṣārī with a similar meaning. It was recorded by Aḥmad (4/29). This chain is weak due to the poor memory of Abū Maʿshar, and Isḥāq ibn Kaʿb's status is unknown. So it is a chain that is acceptable for supporting evidence and follow-ups. And it has a supporting narration from the ḥadīth of Salamah ibn Wardān who said: I heard Anas and Mālik ibn Aws ibn al-Ḥadathān
